Experimental Art
Description
This piece is a three-dimensional artwork of Uncle Sam, constructed entirely from dozens of miniature plastic army men, each individually painted and arranged to form the iconic figure. By assembling a national symbol out of soldiers, the work explores themes of patriotism, militarism, and collective identity. The familiar “Uncle Sam” pose gains new meaning when seen as the sum of countless small figures. The piece is a commentary on power, sacrifice, and the individuals behind a larger system. Alongside Uncle Sam, I also have my self-portrait constructed from plastic men figures and a painting made with rust and iron paint. Showing my interest in pushing materials into unexpected forms and meanings.
